Discover how to share content between multiple instances.

What do the feature do?

It was previously possible to share content only on sites within the same instance.

With this feature, it is now possible to share content between multiple instances. For example, content created on INSTIT Italy can be published on RETAIL Italy and CORPORATE Italy.

  • It saves time avoiding contributing same content on other instances.
  • Easier to administrate a content published on multiple websites.

Fundamentals

  • Only the master template can edit the template.
  • Content is shared on other instances when DRAFT or PUBLICATION status is applied to the master.
  • There is a Cron every 20 minutes. So it takes maximum twenty minutes to display the template on the other instances after publication.
  • Cron are not synchronized. Content can appear on INSTIT before RETAIL for example.
  • A contributor can only share content if he has access to the site's back office.
  • This feature is available only for MVP sites (INSTIT, RETAIL, CORPO, 3 ITALY Sites)

Assets

  • Assets are not duplicated. Therefor the asset shared will not figure in the media library of the shared sites.
  • Images are hosted only on the instance of the master template.

Taxonomy

  • If a taxonomy is contributed an does not exist in the back-office of the receiving site, it will be created automatically in the back office of the shared instance, such as Authors, Topics, Tags...
  • ⚠️ Important to check the exact syntax of taxonomies to avoid duplication, taking particular attention with capital letters, dashes, underscores, spacings...

How can I share content with different instances?

  • In the right column, there is a "Target Websites" section.
  • Enable the checkboxes on the sites you want to share the content on.
  • Wait for the cron, between 1 and 20 minutes.
  • The content will appear in the back office of the selected sites.
